As the daughter of a US Army soldier, I so appreciate this post, Mary! I’m just sorry I didn’t see it in Reader a lot sooner. It touched my heart more than you know. Thank you. And thank all the men and women who served and died for this great nation! ❤

Absolutely they do. And it’s a shame they don’t get it nowadays. And it all started with the Anti-War protests of the 60’s. None of the soldiers who returned home received a hero’s welcome. Instead, most of them got spat on, flipped off, and called “baby killers.” It’s sickening how people treat these brave servicepeople. And not long ago, people protested their funerals. It just disgusts me. But I’m thankful for people like you who give them the honor and respect they so deserve.
