In memoriam
Vincent Martin
March 19, 2021
Love and life paused
the beat of their heart
this spring day, closed
their eyes, lay down
their mortal limbs in rest.
But it was spring—the season
of emerging brightness
and buttery blossoms alike,
reminders that love and life
will be seen again—
found in space around us,
heard not through defined
words but in the murmur
of memories shaped
in the sky, in the hills of the land,
in the song of the brook
and the breeze, reminding us
he is not gone,
but still speaking
through stories
and symbols of life,
especially of love.

This is just beautiful, Mary. Made me cry all over again as our loss was on the same day. It’s a gem!
