Kite-flying

“Imagination

is the highest kite

one can fly.”

— Lauren Bacall

“I see children as kites. You spend a lifetime to get them off the ground. You run with them until you’re breathless. They crash…you add a longer tail…you patch and comfort, adjust and teach. You watch them lifted by the winds and assure them that someday they’ll fly.” — Erma Bombeck

Kite-Flying Day ~ John Rose loves to fly kites, lots of kites, and enjoys sharing the experience with family and friends. And so, every year, John Rose Kite-flying Family & Friends Day is celebrated at Harkness Memorial State Park, Waterford, Conn. This year, a new record was set with 40 kites in the air at once.
