Karen Rancourt writes a bi-weekly advice column for the popular mommybites.com site devoted to parenting resources, support and education. Typically, she devotes her “Ask Dr. Gramma Karen” column to answering questions on how to improve relationships and appreciation between parents and grandparents.
This week was a bit different. She chose to write about stories, and about how stories can help show the way. Much to my delight, she opened the column by pointing to Life Is Full of Sweet Spots as a book that uses stories to nurture – ourselves and others. The book, as she says, includes some 40 stories by artists, writers, gardeners, educators, parents, grandparents, and so many others, on how each personally found relief, fulfillment or simple contentment in life.
Everything begins with a story…
