nothing completely straight
was ever made.”
— Isaiah Berlin
once crooked tree limbs
offer foothold to climb sky
shiver me timbers!

Brilliant quote from Isaiah Berlin! Mary, your Haiku takes me back to Maryland’s Eastern Shore long ago when the tallest and straightest trees found their place as the center mast in a sailing ship. My wife grew up there.
