“The Scottish Highlands are incredible. There seems to be magic and poetry everywhere.”
— Caitriona Balfe
Today we set off by train to Ballachulish, mesmerized along the way by shadows and light playing on mountains that loomed against the sky, and by lakes and lochs that brought relief to the land’s might, before succumbing to the charm of the Isles of Glencoe Hotel. From our hotel we see the island of Eilean Munde, site of a graveyard once used by the Stewarts of Ballaculish, the MacDonalds of Glencoe and the Camerons of Callart. The clans shared the island and its maintenance even when there was conflict between them. (Island photos by Jan Logozzo © 2018)
