“I just finished hanging Casey’s portrait and the more I look at it, the more real he looks! It seems as if he is actually going to jump right out into the living room!” — Carol Giuliano
Meet Casey, retired Greyhound athlete. Now eight years old, Casey came to Connecticut from a Florida racetrack following adoption at the age of three through Greyhound Pets of America (GPA), Connecticut Chapter. Carol, with whom Casey now lives, has fallen in love with him and his sweet, gentle and affectionate nature. Ironically, she says, though Greyhounds can reach speeds of up to and exceeding 45 mph in three strides, they are very laid back and docile, with a daily routine calling simply for a good spirited walk. With Casey — seeing that he is such a “people-person” — she adds to that with lots of love and hugs.
