Josh Simpson creates planets of glass and wonder. Sometimes they appear as celestial delights. Other times, as seen here, they evoke images of undersea fantasies, images that take you to the core of our world.
Jules Verne told us that the sea is everything. “It covers seven-tenths of the terrestrial globe. Its breath is pure and life-giving. It is an immense desert, where man is never lonely, for he feels life stirring on all sides. The sea is only the embodiment of a supernatural and wonderful existence.”
Perhaps that is what draws me to the sea, why I collect its treasures, stare into the depths of tiny globes such as those of Josh Simpson and let myself be swept away into its reservoir of wonder.
Great quote – and I love Josh’s art!
