Symbolically, Acacia trees represent immortality, innocence, initiation of life. Considered sacred by the ancient Hebrews, its wood was said to be used by Moses to build the Ark of Covenant. A thorny tree, it is believed to have been used to make the crown of Christ.
On the Serengeti, where this photo was taken, it shelters the sunrise. A classic icon of the land of the Lion King, it captures the mind’s eye.

This is a beautiful photo! I didn’t know all of these details about this tree, though – cool!

It really is a classic icon of much of Africa, and always stands out so beautifully against the skyline.
