The sweetness of cold? I suspect there are many who would disagree with Mr. Steinbeck. I am not one of them – throw on another blanket and call me happy!
What a wonderful collection of wintry photos – you’ve really captured the beauty! oh and I wish we had Cardinals in this country, they are the ultimate winter bird – what a contrast!
Cardinals are one of my favorite birds…always bring a splash of cheer. Too bad they aren’t in your land, but then again you have others that we don’t. What are your favorites?
The brightest birds we have visit our garden are the Blue Tits, then probably the Robins – nothing quite so cheery as the Cardinal though.
My favourite birds are the Swallows and House Martins, their arrival signals the real start of Spring for me, I could watch them for hours : )
I’d say you’ve had more than your share of the sweetness of cold! The photo is spectacular!

Yeah, I moan and groan about the frozen fingers and toes, but there is a serenity and beauty to scenes like this one!

Have to admit the colors of cold are quite pretty…though there isn’t much else about cold that I really enjoy!

I think he was saying that the cold gives sweetness to the warmth. That I’ll agree with! If he meant the cold is sweet, I’ll join you in disagreement!

Ahh, the Blue Tits are quite pretty, a species that to my knowledge we don’t have here. Thanks for introducing me to it!
